I have been supplimenting my leos diets with rep cal's powdered calcium, calcium with d3 (occassionally), and repiti-min multivitamin,
my mealworms are gutloaded with carrots, sweet potatoes (sometimes), and potatoes , sometimes apples, and Gutload® mixture.
my crickets get the same veggies and some greens, and also Gutload® mix.

I have read about Vionate and some breeders using this to feed to the mealworms,....?

1. Is this an healthy alternative to gutloading?

2.Can this be used as a suppliment to the geckos also...?
(left in the dish for them to eat)

thanks you for your input...

I use vionate in the mealie dish as gutload while they are being eaten by the leos, but I add osteo form or reptivite on rotating feedings. I also add carrot or orange slices for moisture.

I use it as a supplement and a food source for the mealworms. I've had wonderful results with it. I also use Osteo Form as well as RepCal with D3.

I purchase it from different places online in bulk. 1-2 lb containers. ProGeckos sells smaller containers for about 3/4 the price of the larger ones.

I posed part of this question in its on thread, but thought I would try it here as well. I think most of my questions about supplements have been answered.

Oseto-form is used as calcium without D3, correct?

I looked up the label for the vetamix osteo form that is sold on pro geckos.

How Supplied:
1-pound bottles..................................................................List No. 0366
25-pound pails...................................................................List No. 0367
Indications:
For use as an aid in the prevention of dietary deficiencies of calcium,
phosphorus and vitamins A and D.
Do Not Feed to Cattle or Other Ruminants
Dosage: To aid in the prevention of dietary deficiencies, give 1
to 3 slightly rounded tablespoonfuls to foals and 3 to 5 tablespoonfuls
to yearlings and adults each day for as long as
indicated.
Each slightly rounded tablespoonful of Osteo-Form contains
approximately 12 grams. A tablespoon measure is enclosed.
Administration:
Osteo-Form may be added to the daily ration or mixed with milk
or water. To facilitate proper adhesion of Osteo-Form to the ration,
slightly moisten the grain with water or liquid supplement.
Warning:
When using Osteo-Form as a maintenance dietary supplement,
calcium and phosphorus from other food sources should be
considered.
Guaranteed Analysis: Per pound
Calcium, maximum........................................................................32.0%
Calcium, minimum..........................................................................27.0%
Phosphorus, minimum...................................................................16.5%
Vitamin A, minimum..............................................................153,000 IU
Vitamin D3, minimum...............................................................15,300 IU
Ingredients:
Dicalcium phosphate, bone ash, calcium carbonate, soybean
flour, bone meal steamed, polysorbate 80, citric acid, ascorbic
acid, vitamin A acetate and cholecalciferol.

Note it says minimum of 15,300 IU of Vitamin D3. I know this is for a horse, but does it just have such a low amount of D3 or what?

I am really confused about this. What happens if they get too much D3?. I have been using a calcium by that I thought was without D3 and then the rep cal with D3. When you read the label closely on the on the product it mentions have some D vitamins a form of D3. Is rep cal the only company that makes a product that specifically says without D3?

Thank you very much.

Im confused about Vionate and Osteoform, I thought people before said they use Vionate to replace repcal? But im guessing I miss understood and people were still sprinkling repcal over the mealworm bowl every feeding? Does the Osteoform replace the multivitamin?
