I use these for my breeders and I like them alot. Some really old pics can be seen on my site. The stacks are 5 and 4 now (the racks have multiplied as well).

They work well in a fairly warm room. It might be a little hard to keep the temps up if the room gets too cool. I use Ultratherm undertank heaters - the 6 x 23 inch version. There are struts under the plastic base that preclude the use of an under tank heater that is any wider than 6 inches. The 6 x 17" version didn't provide enough heat. If you can find a light that fits in the recessed part of the lid, that would work, but I would strongy recommend against installing a light that hangs down into the tank - that just seems very dangerous to me. I don't use any lights at all.

So basically those heaters are the only one's that would be able to fit under the stackable visionariums? And if you don't mind where did you get yours from? And how warm did the 6x17" get because my room is pretty warm, with the heater just opened a tiny bit.

P.S. Nice Gecko Room..

Thanks..

Thanks! My gecko room is pretty warm too, the 6 x 17 just didn't make enough of the floor warm. I got mine from the Bean Farm - that's the link in my first post. Those are the only ones that I've seen that are narrow enough. You could also use flexwatt, if you want to do the wiring yourself. I have no idea how to do that though.

I believe Nancy bought them at a Reptile Show. I was just at the Vision site and they are 79.99 there. So if lllreptiles is cheaper or if you can find them cheaper anywhere else go for it. Those are very nice. I saw them when I bought 2 leopard geckos from Nancy.

I did get some of my visionariums from vision cages at a show - they were seconds and much cheaper! :) I got some of the others from LLL. They have the cheapest price I've seen online. The UTHs I got from Bean Farm.

You can use heat cable for the UTH. Then you can configure it however you want. A cheaper alternative to Visionarium is stackable cages from glasscages.com, especially if you live in an area where they deliver.

I don't even know what heat cable is, honestly... lol

Is glasscages.com really that much cheaper? Do their tanks inter-lock like these or do I have to buy each tank then get the canopy?

I have several visionariums, 6 of which are stacked without an issue, using as Nancy stated above Ultratherm heat pads on a herpstat thermostat..Search visionariums and their should be a pic of a stack of 5 that I posted awhile back.. :)
