When I rescued my gecko last month I was given Zoo Med Reptivite without D3. It has calcium in it. Do I need a second supplement also?

I use this as well. I have it available in a dish in the viv at all times. And I dust with repashy eveyother feeding. My guys lick up the calcium+D all the time in the tank!

I'm very confused as to what supplements I need. I have a vitamin mineral supplement with calcium with no D3. Do I need a second type of supplement?

This is what I have: Reptivite multi-vitamin W/O D3, Repti Calcium pure calcium, and Rep-Cal calcium W/ D3. So I have 3 supplements :)

The easiest way to suppliment is to use an all in 1 like repashy calcium plus icb or t-rex brand leopard gecko dust by sandfire foods. Depending on the age of your leo you dust with the all in 1 every or every other feeding. I dust my 1 yr old every other feeding. If you aren't using an all in 1 then you need 1 tub pure calcium, 1 tub calcium plus D3, and a multi vitamin. With out D3 the body can't absorb calcium.

So why so many supplements say without D3?

Because for those that don't use an all in 1 they usually leave a dish of pure calcium in their viv for their leo. If you leave calcium with D3 in the viv you risk D3 overdose whereas you really can't od on calcium you just get calcium bubbles under the armpits and worse case scenario psudogout (calcium deposits that can occur from lack of D3 preventing proper absorption making calcium deposits on the bone rather than being absorbed into the bone).
