Waiting for the skink to come out

Last night I picked up my craigslist fire skink (complete with nice enclosure) which I haven't any pictures of because I can rarely see it! I knew what I was getting into when I decided to get it. Late last night it utterly charmed me by coming out and delicately taking mealworms out of its bowl. I was home most of the day because of the blizzard and kept checking to see if it would come out all day. I guess it's going to be a case of unrequited love. . .

It was out twice today and once yesterday. I don't know when it will be the right conditions to take a picture because the tank is on the top shelf and kind of hard to reach. I'll try, though the thing about skinks is that they all look kind of alike (to me anyway). It's really cool when it comes out because so far it's been just staring out of the cage into my living room, looking really interested in everything.

Aw how cool. Fire skinks are so pretty but yeah the kinda do almost all look alike don't they. They were on the short list when deciding what lizard I wanted to get. Nice pick up, can't wait to see pix.

I finally got a picture of (most of) my skink. It now tends to come out in the early evening and often sits part-way out of the substrate surveying its kingdom (otherwise known as the living room. That's what it was doing in this picture:
