If you are housing them together, they will do that.
If you put them in seperate tanks, they will stop (or not do it as much).
This is my experience anyway.
I think it has something to do with stress due to the other animal being
in there.

possibly...but they do it together like a team and the male when shes asleep...they have separate hide boxes and is a 20 gal so shouldnt they be able to separate from each other on their own?

My gecko did that at times and she was in a 30 gallon tank by herself with 5 hides and a few plants hanging around, Lol. She used to do it when I sat next to the tank it was as if she was reaching for me.. so i don't know might be random thing they do.

Mine usually does it after handling - I almost always put her back in on the second level because it's easier to reach, and she usually looks at me for a few seconds and then runs up to the highest point on the ramp and tries to climb the wall.

I still don't know why she does it - perhaps some genetically programmed "toe-pad envy" from their sticky-footed cousins? :)

My oldest gecko, Freya, climbed out of her tank once and when I found her, she was looking around like she was confused or something. When I picked her up she was more than happy just to hang out with me for a bit, soooooo...

I think yours might just want to be with you, but they also might be curious as to what's outside of their habitat... I don't know...

I'm always amazed at how curious my geckos are so you never know =)

Well...lets put you in a glass box...walls you can see through, and see what's on the other side, but you can't get there. Ever.

:) I have the feeling you'd wanna explore and see if you can get out too!
