It seems now that it's warm out my lizard wants to come out constantly. I know they are made for warm temps but I just find it funny how when it's cold poncho is so sleepy and then the next day it's 80 degrees and he's going crazy.

:main_thumbsup:Same here..... It was still winter when we got ours. Our house we kept at 65 and even with UTH and heat lamp, she was not active. As soon as the wether changed... she is like a new girl.

Some of that may have been my fault (not just cold) . Changing tanks and getting it "fixed" the way I wanted and she seemed to want.

So along with the final Tank set up an I guess the time to get settled in and now warming up.We have only had her 7 weeks. She is out and about and more active then i have ever seen.

Like now..... she will just lay out in the open floor and sleep during the day. Never saw that when it was cold outside.

I have also noticed a more regular pooping..... but has always ate the same.

Warm is good!

Same here my little guy is usually holed up in his hide but now he is just roaming around the tank and sleeping out in the open.

Maybe the experts here know..... if the cold winter is the cause of Hide-er-nation? Or if Spring has some biological affect as the days are getting longer( not just warmer)? I know this happens with other animals and plants.

Somehow they know when colder weather is and when it isn't.
Mine hardly ate ANYTHING this winter, and now everyone's appetites seem to be perking up a bit.
Ovulation has also begun in most of my geckos.

Does ovulating have affect on them? And if so what? How many times a year?

winter does cause this but spring also has some biological effect. the light cycles but also the temps. many thing seem to play a part.

coming out of winter into spring females will generally start to eat good again (just like males) but being warm and eating the seasons changing and it can trigger ovulation if the female is of age and her body is telling her she is ready to ovulate.
