I think perhaps what Ryan is getting at is, that so many people jump into breeding geckos before they do their homework. I can't count the number of posts here on GF where people have allowed their geckos to breed (whether accidently or deliberately) and then were in a panic when suddenly their female is gravid or has just laid eggs. "HELP! WHAT DO I DO NOW" posts should never happen, IMHO!!!

I agree.

I choose NOT to go into breeding because it just seems to complicated for the wee little brain to process :main_laugh: . . . I think it's pretty irresponsible not to be informed on atleast the absolute basics . . . People will always have questions and hopefully their will be people to answer but some questions could be answered by a simple little search and a few books. The mating and the incubation part doesn't change that much even though people have different methods like from what I've read from surfing the forums I think I could breed some geckos off that information alone without asking many questions. Genetics are a little harder but the basics are basics for a reason!

I agree! It's really frustrating. I'm hoping to breed... one day. Not sure when, because I feel like I still have a lot more learning to do (not to mention equipment to buy). I think I understand the basics, but I still want to try to figure out genetics more. I admit, I've made newbie mistakes with my geckos before, but I think we all have to start somewhere - and the key is admitting your mistakes, correcting them, and learning from the process. I think I've learned a lot of valuable information just in the short time I've been here at GF.
