So I decided to click on some of the banners above, to browse the leopard geckos. The first one I clicked was the HISS banner at the top. My computer IMMEDIATELY went CRAZY. That site is infected. Luckily I know enough about computers to where I was able to salvage it. I didn't know where to put this, but I don't want someone else going there and having the same problem. This thing called System Protection something started scanning my computer, wouldn't let me open ANYTHING saying that the file was infected.. Stuff started downloading.. My computer basically just went NUTS with viruses and trojans and god knows what else. You all are my friends, so I don't want it to happen to any of you! :heart:

Managed to get the crap off my computer. Working on restoring my hard drive. It F'd my crap up, for real. I dunno if it was something in the banner or on the HISS site itself. The site loaded fine, then I clicked on Available on the site.. As soon as that came up is where my computer just turned into a pile of mush basically...

BTW - Used my laptop to post this immediately. That's how come it got posted so fast.

Its called the System Progressive Protection virus. Its a fake virus scan that when finished tells you that there are all kinds of issues found on your computer that need to be resolved. It blocks access to everything on your computer but this fake scan. It happened to me right when the forum had issues that Thad had to fixed when he first took over the site. It was very easy to fix and did not effect my computer in any way once it was removed. It was just a pain in the butt more than anything.

I would suggest to send Thad an email to let him know about this potential issue. He is super quick to resolve any issues with this site.

Yea.. That's what it was. It DEFINITELY was a pain in the butt, but my computer is ok now. How do I get ahold of Thad please?

I don't know what the reason was. All I know is I clicked on the HISS banner, it took me to their website, I clicked on the "Available" link at the top. As soon as that page loaded my computer started going crazy.. *shrug*

It is not Geckoforums that has the issue. The issue is on www.hisss.com. I will Email Kelli and let her know of the problem.
