water dips?

today i went to a reptile store where they proceded to tel me to soak my leo in shoulder high warm water for 10 minutes every day. This is for the leo that wont eat and is deathly thin. Has anyone ever heard of this?

yeah its a good idea its to loosen up there stomach if they have impaction do you know if your gecko has impaction if it does seek vetranairy help ASAP

It would be great if you could post some (clear) pictures of your geckos stomach maybe on a peice of glass.

impactions may cause the gecko to swell up if it can't go to the bathroom, I haven't heard of a gecko wasting away because of intestinal blockage--they would generally die before it gets to that point. It sounds to me like an infection/parasites--I'd get him to a vet ASAP

If you need to soak a gecko, make sure the "warm water" is not too hot; usually its the right temp if your hand can't feel cold or just VERY VERY SLIGHTLY warm. Also, its fine as long as the water covers its belly, I would say shoulder high is too deep (the gecko will float and freak out, lol).
