Water crystals work just fine for me. Even use them with my king beetles too. (I just don't spread it out all over the place for the beetles and keep it to a narrow side of their bin) Supers though... I just toss in a handful like sprinkling it all around style. Just don't go overboard. Don't want to create to much moisture.

I use water crystals for my mealworm beetles. used a water cap and buried it to the brim, put an egg carton over it.. gone in 10 minuets. I had 50 superworms eat the same amount. put it between a papertowel to not get the substrate wet.
