I've seen the water crystals and the water pillows and I've heard of some people just using like a cotton ball soaked with water. Which way is the best you think? How do you guys water your crickets?

Water crystals is the way to go. No drowning of crickets, very satisfied and glad that I made the switch from sponge to water crystal. Should have made that transition long time ago. I only offer occasional potato and carrot as a treat as I believe the cricket feed that I use is sufficient to gut load them that I do not need any additional form of liquid supplements via carrots/potatoes other then crystals.

Right now I'm feeding my crickets crushed up dry cat food mixed with tropical fish flakes and they seem to like it. I also give them some pieces of romaine lettuce and occasional piece of fruit (watermelon, pear, apple). Is this sufficient to make them nutritious for my leo or do you think I should be feeding them labeled cricket gut load stuff?

I like giving them fresh orange sections with the skin peeled back for them. They love it and it provides lots of vit C for the geckos too. The orange sections last 3 days then I put in a few new sections or they mold.

I have tried potatoes, carrots, just water, and water crystals and the crystals work the best because the vegitables smell and the crickets drown in the water so i use crystals.

Depends on the size of the crickets. For pinheads I use very small amount of water crystals.

For adults I use a waterer like this one.
