I think you can feed waxworms at any age, they aren't big and are pretty soft. Cute worms, they're the only worms I'll handle with my bare hands.

I personally choose not to feed waxworms though.

okay, thanks guys. since i'll be going home for the holidays i was thinking about feeding a couple since she may not be eating as often during those weeks to fatten her up beforehand

Hold the Waxworms

Waxworms are fatting. They have so much fat that it is like eating Ice Cream, or a nice steak, or a piece of bacon or some french fries.

They taste so good but, are bad for you.

You should not feed your Gecko too many Waxworms.

Crickets, Mealworms, Roaches and some other insects on occassion.

Waxworms ... occassionally (what ever that is) Once a week, every other week, or once a month.

If you feed your Gecko too many Waxworms they will only want to eat them because they are so tastey.

So don't give them too many or your Gecko will get over weight and you will have some significant health problems to deal with.:main_yes:

okay, thanks :) i feed her crickets and mealies, usually switching off every day, sometimes both in one feeding. i know waxworms are fattening and not healthy, but i was planning on feeding her maybe one a week as we near the Christmas break so that she has a little extra fat on her since i will be away

I usually feed a couple waxworms once every 2 weeks or so for a snack and some variety. I started the younger ones around 2-3 months old.

how long will the waxies last in the fridge? i bought some tonight, and they come in a pack of 50. i only have one leo, so if i feed one waxie a week, it will last me almost a year! any chance they will last that long??

haha, really didn't think so, but it never hurts to ask :) kind of a shame you can't buy them in smaller quantities. because unless i want one very obese and unhealthy gecko, there's absolutely no way i can use 50 waxworms with just one gecko. :(
