My girlfriend and I got the Call We have never wanted to Get.... Her Older Brother Works as a roofer. And the worst thing that could Happen to a roofer Happened to My Bro in Law.... He Fell from a 15ft roof when he slipped on Some Roofing Mud... He Fell and Hit his head and Completely Shattered both wrists.. He is getting Paid 20 hours on the clock and then the rest is under the table... His Boss just dropped him Off at the Hospital and he made up a story about him falling at his aunts house.. Her Brother Doesnt have any health Issurance... My Girlfriend and her Father Were beyond P****D They have only done X Rays on his wrists and have not even done a CatScan or anything Possibly because he doesnt have any Issurance.... We are hoping he will tell the truth and even if it gets his work in trouble he will tell the truth so the hospital can start getting to work...

well thanks for listening and we are hoping for a speedy recovery (Even though it doesnt look like it will be anytime soon)

How is the the hospital refusing to treat him (basically) because he doesn't have insurance? I'm pretty sure public hospitals have to treat all patients the same. Head injuries are so dangerous, I'm surprised they aren't worried about getting sued if something happened. How does the head injury seem to be affecting him so far? That's the serious part. My dad fell off of an apartment balcony with a bathtub when he was working construction as a college kid. Broke his back but he's in better shape than I am now so hopefully your brother in law recovers to 100% too.

Thank You everyone for Your Concern i will be sure to pass this on to Him in the morning... We just found out that the doctors Popped his wrists back into place but they will be Putting hardware in in the morning... The Dr said he probably will never do roofing again or any kind of Construction.

Not that they have refused treatment, but when we ask questions about checking for Head trauma they dont respond... I havent been up there in several hours so things might have changed... I do know that My girlfriends father (soon to be pop in law) Is Furious at his sons Job and as soon as Chris(Bro In Law) Is Better he will be seeking A lawyer and making sure that all of chris' medical expenses are paid for by his Job.... I really hope that he make it thru this ok, he is not one to complain but seeing him the way he was today it wasnt looking good... Its tough seeing someone who always acts so tough and Macho Be Helpless... Well I am going to get out of here i have to wake up in 5 hours to bring my girlfriend to the Hospital to see Chris before he goes in for Surgery... thanks Every one for your support I am Happy I Have all of you...

I'm sorry to hear of this accident. Be thankful he is alive. I hope he heals fast from surgery. If I were him I would be none too anxious to get back on a roof, but I know a lot of roofers who have had accidents and gone back to working on the roof. I guess they would say, "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger." Keep us posted as to his status, kid.

I just found out that he got sent home and he will be having surgery Later on Next week... I cant imagine the Pain he is going thru. Well I can because i have had several Severely broken bones but i need imediate surgery i didnt have to go home and wait... Apparently his wrists are too swollen to do the surgery so he has another appointment on tuesday to see if the swelling went down....

I would love to see a similar system in the US. we are the most powerful country in the world, but have the worst healthcare system imaginable. even with insurance, they try to provide the minimum care to gain the greatest profit and order tests with the highest profit ratio regardless of what the patient needs.

Thank every one he is feeling better (As good as he can) he is having Surgery on Thursday....

Here Comes the real F'ed Up part...........
His "Work" has now contacted the Hospital Saying that Chris (My Bro in law) Never Worked for Them.....
He has been working there for about 6-7 years and has been under the Table (Being payed in Cash) for the last 5... They said that he never worked for them but they Screwed themselves over Because he has his W2's from the last 2 years... They Put him on the books 2 years ago... So this looks like after he gets out of his surgery and everything it is going to be a Big Legal Battle... His Father has Already Got to work...

Its really Sad that He is already going thru so much pain that his work is now screwing him over... I know he is not the best person out there and he is no angel By all means but no ones Deserves to be put thru all that Crap....

That is horrible, but I am glad he is feeling better! I can't imagine what he is going through and how he's feeling knowing his work of 6-7 years is betraying him .
I hope they get what their asking for and that your brother-in-law gets fully recovered !
