Weird Shedding Problem - What's Going On?

Hi Everyone,

I posted a couple weeks ago about Star shedding her whole body except her head.

Well, she just shed again last night. She shed her whole body except her head again because the skin on her head isn't ready to shed yet. It wasn't the "shed color" like the rest of her body was and it still looks like it's not going to come off until tonight.

So it looks like a nicely colored body, then frayed skin around the neck, and an almost-ready-to-shed color on her head. How the heck does this happen?! And is there something else I should be doing to make sure this never happens again? These are the first two times I've ever seen it happen, especially with her, and I don't know what to do. Her tankmate, Bengal, is shedding her whole self just fine - Star used to, it's just these past two times, including today. I'm moving her to her own tub in the rack so I can constantly keep up the humidity and monitor her progress.

Again, 2 cool hides, 2 warm hides, 2 humid hides. Temps are ~90-91F spot temp warm side, ~74-76F spot temp on the cool side (it's a really long tank, maybe 4.5-5 feet). Ambient temps are ~84F warm side (under the lamp) and ~74F cool side. They usually stay in the hot end/middle end of the tank, but do the trip to the cool side during the night, especially on warmer days, to drink, use the calcium dish, and to poop.

What's goin on and what should I be doing?

Is there anything that is slightly abrasive that she can rub on? Some geckos get a little overzealous and rub themselves raw on rough cage furnishings. But but on the other hand, if everything is smooth and there's nothing to rub on they can have problems getting hard to reach areas.

i had that happen with one of my males and i used Shedding Aid I bought at Petsmart. It worked after putting it on his head for a few days now its fine. Now i spray all the geckos with it when they are about to shed. its a very useful item. I put it on him with a Q-tip. i would definitely try it.

The geckos is my visionariums have the "smooth" problem, they just glide, lol...
So, they choose, moist hide and paper towels...

My egg layers, love to shed in ths Sphagnum box..

Qtips work wonders with some patience and a spray bottle(I have no experience with Shedding Aid product)..
