i changed his substrate to paper towel about a week ago. and also added a fake plant and a ceramic type log hide. i have to say since i did all that, he is 100x more active, is hunting both crix and mealies now, he is out and about all the time, and seems sooo much happier. he is now hunting both mealies and crix (before he wouldnt touch the crix, because he was too lazy lol) its amazing the change in him since i added the log and fake plant, i may add another fake plant also. i'll try to get a pic shortly.

im glad too, usually when i add/change something he just explores for a few minutes and goes back in his half log hide. since i added the plant and the log three days ago he has been all over the place and all he wants to do is hunt mealies and crix lol. i dont even put the mealies in a dish anymore, because they dont last long enough to run and hide anywhere. i just drop a few on the floor, wait for a few seconds....and then watch the show (quite funny to watch )

oh, speaking of, the fecal sample i brought in to the vet was negative for everything they tested it for. im not sure as to what they tested all of it for, but he said its all normal and good, so it was just the moss he ingested making him that way, but its all passed through now and he has been rip roaring ready to go
