What a great community!!

I just wanted to say that I just finished my first year (not breeding season, but a whole year) of gecko breeding, and I am still amazed about how awesome of a community this is. I use to breed Boas (I love snakes, but wasn't thrilled at all with some of the people in the Boa community atleast) not sure about other snake communities. But by far this is the most imformative community, made up of breeders who don't see it as a competition but a "group project" so to speak to advance what is done with the Leopard gecko and other gecko species. Ofcourse everyone would like to be the first to produce a new morph, but there is no one stabbing another in the back to accomplish something first, but actually the exact opposite, people sharing information/geckos with other breeders to help them with there projects. I have met way to many Leopard breeders to mention since I have started , but you all know who you are, I talk to you all the time just to pick your brain and pick up some of the things you have learned along the way, and you are always so willing to share the info. Everyone I have purchased from in the past, talked to through private message here, or met in Daytona, you all are the greatest, and I couldn't have asked for better friends, and THANK YOU for all the help along the way. I can't wait for the years to come, it will be interesting to see what all these fine people produce. :main_thumbsup:

This site is my home page. I plan to be on it all day post op. Everyone's stories and pictures really are the fun part of my day. Especially when people post classifieds of leos I want to buy. Oh to have limitless cashola.

I totally agree! I have called many people who I see on this forum out of the blue and all of them were top rate people who helped me in any way they could. I do my best to be that same person when contacted myself.

It's that aproach to the hobby that makes it as enjoyable as it is to me!

I, too, am privileged to be a part of the leopard gecko community! One of the things I appreciate the most is this website and the people who make it the BEST hub in the world that all of us can share and learn about these wonderful creatures we all love. I consider the members of GeckoForums.net like an extended family, and each contributes something of value. This place was Kelli's vision, and I am honored to be one of the ingredients in the recipe that makes the cake!

It's funny, because most of us breeders are actually competitors in the market, and yet we have a deep and abiding respect for one another.... not to mention we really like each other as well! We are genuinely excited for each other when something really cool pops up in our colonies, and we offer encouragement and help when we are working on our projects. We may do things differently sometimes, but we all share the same high standards, values, and ethics.

It all really about the geckos, and doing the BEST we can do for them!

We love this communtiy so much! We were on another forum for a few months when we started with our geckos. It was so depressing that people didn't want to share info with us and were always talking down on us because we were new. We came here and it's amazing! This is my homepage because I love to get right into the forum! We can't wait to get PMs from our friends on here. We really enjoy talking with everyone and have met some truely amazing long-term friends.

We are proud to be part of this top-notch community of such intelligent, caring, and friendly people. We have learned almost everything through this site! We do read here and there, but what it boils down to is the personal experiences of multiple people that really help everyone learn how to care for their geckos, genetics, and breeding.


We hope this site is here forever! It is so awesome, what we said still can't describe the coolness of this place and everyone on here. :main_yes:

I've made some good friends over the years, and as the gecko community has moved from one forum to the next we've been lucky to have continued to grow together.

I honestly have been surprised by how great this community is. Im on 2 other reptile forums, 1 of which is the forum for the reptile shows here in my state(constant bickering basically) and the other is the one matt and mallorie mentioned(i remember when you guys first started out...not much has changed there ) but i come on here MULTIPLE times everyday and its really nothing but positive posts and encouragement from one another. That really says alot for the people that keep and breed leos. I think their sweet temperment must rub off onto their owners because everyone here seems to have the biggest heart and willing to help out in any situation. I credit the people here for giving me the knowledge that i have and i always recommend this forum to people who seem as interested in leos as i am and everybody else here is!
