I am so frustrated right now!! :furious3: I just spent a huge amount of time taking pictures - and they all SUCK! Even worse than my usual attempts.

Usually I take pictures in the sunlight, today I didn't because they sprayed our area for those stupid apple moths and I didn't want to take the geckos outside. So I put everything in bright natural light and used a flash. The pics look ok on the camera, but they are all totally dark. So I set up 3 lights all aimed at the white background and used a flash. Still totally dark and the few that weren't have shitty color. AAARRRGGGGHHH!!! So now I've wasted my entire day off. :wall:

Nancy, I feel your pain. Aside from being short on time, the main reason I haven't updated my availability is because I can't get decent pictures to save my soul, despite having a new Canon EOS 40D. Everything is too dark no matter what I do - that, or they come out all yellow. I just received a set of Alien Bee flashes today though, and I'm hoping they'll help me get decent pictures.

I HATE TAKING PICTURES!

You guys need to go manual, and adjust the white-balance up and down until you get the desired results. Just take your most chill gecko and start taking one photo for each WB setting (write it down), pop out your card, plug it in to your card reader, and see which one has the best image.

Yes, that says it all, right there!!

I just dug out the manual for this old point & shoot camera and it actually does have a white balance! I hope I will have time to play with it tomorrow!

My poor old camera is on its last legs - getting it to close up after taking pics takes a few minutes. I'll figure out how it really works just in time to need a new one - LOL! I guess that's what I should ask for for Christmas.

Anyway, thanks for letting me vent! It really does help to be able to grumble about it to people that can understand - and help!!

I did this a while back and it was really helpful...until I lost the paper anyway...LOL
