Do you have holes in the egg container? As long as you can open them once a week there's no need for air holes...

this is her 2nd or third clutch they were big and round when they came out then started to dent when i put them in the incubator, no air holes in the container just put a wet paper towel over to see what happens because the denting was only gettin worse

Did you observe the breedings?
Have you ever had hatchings from this female?
Have you had successful hatchings from the incubator being used?
Is your room temperature fluctuating much?
What hatching temperature are you shooting for?

its been at a constant 86

Opinion.....the hatching method is sound.

I don't think your male got the job done successfully. Did you by any chance see her tell him no more, the next time after you witnessed a breeding?
Or did you only see one breeding? If you have another male to use I would see what happens.
I watched one female breed 5 times with the same male every 2 days.
The female kept wanting to go back at it two days later.
I used another male and she only allowed him one time.
She told him off good the next time I put them together.
She laid 10 eggs.....hatchings from the 2nd male...using this same method.
Good luck.....take care... HJ

i think the eggs must just be bad i looked at temps its has stayed a constant 86 and the humidty gauge reads 95% could this be too humid? also now that i think about it it was another one of my females that i actually saw breeding i never saw the one that laid these two my mistake.

could be, but too much humidity leads to mold, denting usually means that things are too dry. What perlite to water ratio did you use?

Sometimes eggs are just infertile from the get-go (also called slugs).

Just realized you already said this..
When did you switch? Were there eggs that were switched from one to the other, or did you switch when you had no eggs?

Changing the humidity during the incubation period can hurt the eggs as well

First year females are very unpredictable. I have one female that has lain over 24 eggs and only two eggs have been fertile. I have another that just simply won’t produce with only three or four clutches this year and no viable eggs. I find that most first year females will produce better eggs later in the season. I think it just takes them a while to catch on to the calcium uptake and follicle production routine.

Hang in there! Your female is just

Regarding perlite, watch for moisture already in the perlite. You can buy perlite that already has a lot of moisture in it. Take an egg container full of perlite and weigh it. Let it sit on the shelf without a top for a week and weigh it again. I was surprised by how much water was in my perlite when I tried this! I always let my perlite sit and dry out before I use it.
