Yesterday I got off work and checked my incubator for hatchlings. I had two eggs that I had assumed would be hatching anyday: striped AFT X striped AFT, and Giant albino het raptor X murphy patternless. I checked the murphy patternless egg container first and the egg hadnt hatched. Then as I started looking for the container marked AFT I saw what looked like a wax worm next to one of my BB X 66% het BB eggs. Of coarse stupid me imediatly thought wax worm instead of blizzard hatchling tail :main_rolleyes: So I grabbed that container and opened it up and found a dead blizzard het albino laying right next to its egg
The yoke was still attached to her belly. She got all the way out of the egg, then died right next to it. The tail, head and feet were all white, and the body from the back of the head to the base of the tail was yellow. I opened one of the eyes and took a picture of them with macro to find out if the hatchling was a blizzard or a blazing. the eyes were normal colored. The only good thing about this is I now know that "spots" is at least het blizzard, and is still 66% het tremper. I got all my 66% hets from a friend who bought them from VMS. I would rather hatch out pure white geckos, but VMS is breeding for a buttery yellow blazing by outcrossing into their high yellow line. So I guess all my blazings will be yellow bodyed. The day wasnt a complete loss. After I got done looking at my dead hatchling I went back to the incubator and saw a nose sticking out of my AFT egg... I got to watch the little speed demon come shooting out of his egg in like 2 seconds flat :main_thumbsup: I even took pictures
