What classifies a gecko as a juvie?

I would generally consider Leos in the 15-35g range juvies. You can feed every day or every other day, both ways are fine. You can try it each way and see how they do better.

Mine are 7 months, and I have switched from daily, to every other
day feeding.
Since it's winter, they have cut back, so I may just feed 3 or 4 times a week
until Spring.
My female is eating very little now, she had 2 crix yesterday, and she really
didn't even want those, I was just insistent! :D
I have been putting bowls of mealies in her tank every evening, but she
never touches them.

A juvie is between hatching and adult. Roughly from 1 month to 1 year old imo. Especially since theyre growing, i would feed them everyday.

excluding humans, most species are classified as "adult" upon reaching sexual maturity. from what i have read leopard geckos tend to reach sexual maturity around 35 grams, this usually happens between 10 and 24 months.

JVs

Maturity would not be a function of weight.

While many breeders may wait for a female to reach about 40 grams before considering her ready some breeders will often wait until the femalis is even larger say 50 to 60 grams.

The age of the would be the correct measurement and 10 months or 12 months to 24 months would be correct. Then, somepoint during this time frame I would assume that the weight of 35 or 40 grams would be hit.

A JV should be fed everyday because they are growing and need the additional food.

I have a 4 and 1/2 month old that eats almost every day and she weighs 45 grams.

I think the other one is 7 and 1/2 months old that eats almost every other day and weighs 56 grams. I tried every day but, she wouldn't eat.

Since I am in a warmer climate, they have not slowed down eating yet.

Thanks, for all the replies but I have another question. Will a gecko still go into hibernation if they are kept in a warm place?

I live in a very cold place in the winter, however my geckos are kept in a temp controlled room that stays 77-78 degrees all the time. Mine will sometimes slow down a little bit in the winter, basically some of them eating just a bit less (probably affected a bit by the light cycle, as they receive indirect, natural light), but none have every actually gone anywhere near actual hibernation. All geckos are different, though. I expect if your house cools down a little in the winter months and they are exposed to natural light cycles, it may send them into hibernation mode.

eta: different breeders have differnent classifications of Leo life stages. There is no set standard for this. Personally, I consider mine, roughly:

Hatchlings -- hatching - 2 weeks
Juvies -- 2 weeks - 6 months
Sub-Adults -- 6 months - breeding age/weight
Adults -- breeding age/weight (usually about 10 months and 55+ grams)

Well, I live in Malaysia so there are no four seasons. Just a dry season and a wet season. There is equal light all year round but for some reason, my gecko just started to eat like this. First day, 9 worms. Second, 3 worms. Third, 8 worms. Fourth, no worms. Fifth, 10 worms. Sixth, 4 worms. My gecko is 3 months old, weighing around 25 - 30 grams. Is he going to start eating once every other day?

If your gecko choses to eat every other day its fine. I and probably most others just meant to offer food everyday, so to not withold food that they may need.

What do you eat.

What I mean is that do you eat the same amount of food each day? The answer is of course not.

So the same is true of your Gecko.

I have heard that at about 40 grams they may start to eat every other day but, then I ready that it may be after 10 or 12 months.

I am thinking that when they are less interested in food every day then make the switch. The youngins need to each just about every day to put on the weight (not counting breeding females).

As for Hibernation, if you were trying to get them to go into Hibernation, you would lower the temperature for a couple of weeks to the point where you got it to 50 degrees. Then you leave it that way for 4 or 5 weeks and then bring it back up. (From what I have read, this is done for breeding and if you really want to.)

Other than that the Gecko will just slow down.
