I know what can they be kept on, but the question is - what should they be kept on to rapidly sift them out of substrate (and by the way poop ;d) to feed geckos.

Some geckos hatched, got few more to feed and the problem is not about food, its about getting it out of substrate. I am just already angry of pulling one by one with tweezers.

I also use wheat bran. I don't wear gloves but I wash my hands very good afterward.

I use chicken feed which can be kind of a pain because it's not all that sift-able. However one thing that I've found that helps is to cut an orange in half and lay it face down on top of the feed, the next day you can find a nice sized handful of worms directly under the orange so minimal sifting is required.

I use progeckos gutload.
Yeah it costs a few dollars but it is very nutritious and it keeps my worms fat and healthy, which in turn keeps my geckos fat and healthy.
Very easy to sift as it is essentially a thick powder. I use a spaghetti strainer to sift out the worms.
