Hi everyone,

What do you use to clean your leo's terrarium and furniture?

I have the Aubrey Organics Earth Aware All Natural Cleanser, but I'm not sure if it could remove the bacteria and stuff?

I don't wanna use bleach if I don't absolutely have to.

Also, would boiling the furniture be good enough for monthly cleaning (I do wash the water dish daily)?

Thanks in advance ! :)

Distilled white vinegar, due to it's high level of acidity, can be used to disinfect. Do a Google search on it. I know it doesn't smell the best but it's definitely non-toxic if you rinse thoroughly and dry before re-introducing your leo to his cage.

Peroxide is an excellent cleaner/disinfectant. It is very cheap, no smell and is recommended for cleaning cages/furniture.

I use diluted bleach (10% bleach:90% water). Then I rinse well (usually a couple times to be sure), and once I dry them I let them stand for a while before setting them up again. The way I understand it, oxygen eliminates the toxicity of bleach.

No, you can't disinfect with water.

For tile cleaning I use lysol wipes, let it sit for about 10 minutes then wipe it back down with a moist cloth before putting the leo back in the tank. For furniture I use a water/bleach mixture (mostly water... about 10% bleach, 90% water) and let them soak for a while before allowing them to air dry. :)

I use Chlorhexadine to disinfect cages and furniture. Seems to work well.

regular water.

If this is a joke, I don't find it funny. Somehow I really don't think it is a joke though, and that's just sad :main_no: Maybe it's just me, but Shawn, you seem to say a lot of things that don't exactly make sense...? I don't know if it's your sense of humor I'm not getting, or what...

I see no reason to disinfect with bleach, vinegar, peroxide, or chlorhexadine unless you are cleaning quarantine bins or cages...

Anti-bacterial dish soap and hot water do the trick very effectively... Anything else is overkill in my opinion and not needed...

Shawn, you are a silly boy... LOL
