HI, i just thought it might be an interesting idea tostart a thread where people can mention a bit about what else they like to do and anyo ther hobbies/animals they are interested in.

i'll start:
-im into a hobby called speed cubing, which is solving rubiks cube style puzzles really fast. like under a minute. there are loads of awesome puzzles that take time to learn and get better. its great fun :)

- i also play both guitar and drums at an advanced level and im into heavy metal music. bands i like are children of bodom, trivium, inflames.

- i played roller hockey for a team, who won the european cup, which was pretty good.

- also im a teenager.. so im obviously into consoles and games lol. my fave game atm is God Of War for PS3

so yeah thats alli can think of for now, and its starting to sound like a part of a CV so...

sharing is optional obviously but thought it would be fun :)

I build cars and motorcycles. I work with both domestic and import with both of them. Hopefully next season I can get my GSXR out for one of the track days here in St. Louis to see what it has got. I have hat it down a shut down runway at over 180mph, and it was still climbing!

I am a competition pistol shooter, at an amateur level of course! I am progressing, but being on second shift, I have to work during most of the match shoots here in St. Louis! I also reload all of my own ammo for my pistols, and I have recently taken up sporting clay shooting.

I like to tinker around with electronics but that is what I do for a living too. I am an industrial electrician.

I skate board and aggressive roller blade when there is some spare time to blow. My cousin is a cabinet maker and has on of the nicest mini ramps you will ever ride in his back yard!

In the winter time I am a avid snowboarder, and go every chance I can get.

I have a whole bunch of hobbies I have not had time for lately though. High speed nitro remote control cars, paint balling, high end scale model cars, guitar, etc, etc, etc!

Ok other hobbies and interests...

I'm prob. the old head answering here. I just turned 40 in March (eeek :main_lipsrsealed: ) but still feel 29. I'm an animal behavior specialist so a lot of my hobbies and interests seem to revolve around animals. I specialize in Canine behavior. I work with several rescue groups, I foster a lot of the most "unadoptable" damaged dogs that come from some of the worst shelters out there and rehab them into confident adoptable animals. A lot of my time is devoted to the dogs. I think I donated over 500 hours last year just in consults, not including the rehab work.

Also my other passion is my rabbitry. My son's and I breed competition show rabbits and show in ARBA (American Rabbit Breeder Association) shows. We show netherland dwarfs and have 2 home bred buns that are 1 leg short of their grand championship YAY. This endeavor was a way for the boys and I to spend some quality time together doing what we love... playing with animals :)

Also I am an avid gardener. I tell my hubby that if I didn't garden I'd likely turn to homicide, and that's not an option :) I really don't want to see the inside of some of Pa's finer women's institutions just yet. It's my zen time.

Aside of that I like to go shooting with the men in my life. My hubby is a former Marine with his sniper certification and obviously both our boys love to go shooting.

I enjoy art and poetry and have tried my hand at both, with minimal success. It's pretty much just for me. I use to write a column for our local little paper about all things dog (go figure :) ), but my schedule just got too taxing to continue with the column but I still contribute when time allows.

So... that's me :D

I'm a Vascular Sonographer and was a Biology major in college so that's the reason I like leo's all about the genetics baby.

I am an avid mountain biker. I raced at an intermediate level for 5 years. I still ride as much as I can but still not as much as I would like. I worked at a bike shop till this summer to afford my hobby/addiction.

I keep saltwater fish (in the past) and freshwater fish (currently). I used to fly RC aircraft and still have one sitting in the garage waiting to go. I have brewed beer for years (the reason for my name on here). I like to roast my own coffee beans and make espresso, I got rid of my nice espresso machine so I mostly use a french press for my coffee.

I play love to play Call of Duty on the PS3. Looking forward to the next one in the series coming out in a few weeks. Never too old for video games.

You name it and I have pretty much done it hobby wise. Ironically I will be taking my first jump next spring Keith......lol.

Mostly i'm a mommy to the coolest 2 year old boy ever and wife to my super hubby! In my former life (pre-kid) I was a staff scientist for an environmental engineering firm and have a strong environmental bent in both education and just about anything for that matter. Other critter wise it's just our former pound puppy Layla who is a greyhound/shepherd mix. In my free-time we like to garden (native species) especially my bog garden, hiking, camping, kayaking, pretty much anything outside. Mostly I am a hippie in the modern age other than my love of all things Mac!

I am president on an electrical company. Been doing it for a long time in between my parents pet shop when it was open. I am active in the Cub Scouts with my son as I am a believer that society is getting away from character and morals. We live out by the Chesapeake Bay and are on or at the water regularly. We live way out in the sticks as I think the population of Lottsburg is 3000.

I'm a receptionist that is trained in accounts receivable, program sales, billing, etc.

I am a college student, studying political science with a criminal justice minor.

I am an online freelance writer. I miss writing non-fiction, though.

I love working with and training dogs.

I hate Rachel on Glee Club; she reminds me of a bad person I know.

Anyway, i feel my life is not so interesting as others who have posted here. I work too much writing, with reptiles, at work, and school, oh and a needy boyfriend.

I'm a typical 14-year old nature lover. :p

I have 5 chickens, a duck, a dog, 2 finches, and 13 button quail that I breed. Poultry and birds are a big hobby of mine. (Getting another leo this Christmas, used to have one 2 years ago and loved him)

I love video games like Halo reach, some COD, battlefield, etc.

Fishing is a big hobby of mine, there's nothing like heading out with a couple rapala crankbaits on a warm Florida day. I'm catch and release for largemouth bass. (Biggest one I caught was 12.4 pounds!)

Ants. No, not the darn uncle milton ones, I'm a hardcore colony keep'n Myrmecologist. I have a couple 50$ formicariums which I bought from a friend, which currently house several large colonies of Crematogaster, Camponotus, Apheanogaster, Pogonomyrmex, Dorymyrmex, and many more. (Yes, egg-laying queen an all)

I can't even pronounce half of those let alone know what they are. You are def. NOT the typical 14 year old. You're way better than that :)

If you have extra pogo's I may interested in buying some. I order them from a couple places out west for my desert horned lizard, usually 1000 at a time. PM and let me know please :)

- Believe it or not I was born 4 months early and weighed 1 lb 13 oz. at birth. I shouldn't even be here today, thank you God!

- I'm still struggling to find a full-time job in my field (seems like everyone's in the same boat). Meanwhile, I do freelance graphic design/illustration for various clients and continuous subcontracting work for a design studio down in VA.

- I want to try to keep my fine art skills alive and complete a few digital pieces (prints) to sell at the PA reptile shows next year.

- I currently work at a liquor store. Yea baby! :2thumbsup:

- My family and I own 3 AQHA Quarter horses. I used to show English & Western with my horse Mikey at MWHA shows and kicked a ton of butt coming home with Champion ribbons. I never got into the AQHA shows, with school and now work I never had the time. :p

- I'm obsessed with reading Stephen King novels (The Talisman is my all time fav by S.K. and Peter Straub), however, recently I have taken the liking towards a few books by "Mary Roach"... "Stiff: The Secret Lives of Human Cadavers" and "Spook: Science Tackles the Afterlife". These are very humorous yet educational books, people! Do Recommend!

- I Love horror/thriller/mystery movies ANY time of the year, not JUST Halloween.

- When I was an underclassman in high-school I bred mice to experiment with genetics for myself. I succeeded in creating a consistent line-bred silky coat and also bred my mice for calm temperaments. I called this the "mouse black market". It both freaked a few teachers out, got me one referral and in the long run made plenty of my friends happy with new pets. :) Sometimes I miss my mice but am glad I chose to just stick with the reptiles.

- Have been keeping reptiles since my parents allowed me to get my first one when I was 10 years old. A green anole who I named "Jade". She lived for 7 years! Soon afterward, I got my first two leopard geckos.

- My mom used to pick on me about how disgusting it is but yes... I still have my childhood bird feather collection. My favorite feathers are from a Northern Flicker. My dad was always into Ornithology so he took me on many bird walks and bird taggings as a child. I miss those days.

- My dad used to call me "Moldy Lissa" as a childhood nickname. To this day I'm still not sure why.. haha!

- I love creative writing, anything to stretch my imagination!

-I'm a proud Mac owner <3 My favorite software for my illustration= Adobe Illustrator and Corel Painter X.

-I <3 my Jack Russel Terrier. :sweetheart:

-Hiking through the woods is fun but so is rollerblading.

-I'm a Christian. :)

-This list is too long now so I'm finished.

Ohhhhh guys, I'm so excited! I just posted this last night about "struggling to find a job".

Well, this morning one of my job prospects (a local small printing company) called me and offered me a full time job. I took it! Woohoo! :)
