I have I have one gecko, Angel, that I can't put moss in his humid hide because last time i did he ate it. So I've been putting in paper towel, but with winter here and the air being do dry it dries out too fast, and he is having troubles getting all the shed off. What else can i put in the hide that will hold moisture longer and won't be eaten.

What I do is I still use moss, but I put a layer or 2 of paper towel over it so there's no chance of my leo eating it :) it's worked so far! I have that Zoo Med 3 in 1 Reptile Shelter by the way.

I have been told no sponges or cloths as they can harbor bacteria, you would have to boil it often, but thats what ive been told. Doesnt mean much. The other issue with a sponge that their claws may get stuck in it.

sponges are extremely dirty as far as I know, I would try the paper towel over the moss trick first.
