Ever since I started feeding Tiamat superworms she's put on a lot of weight. Some people might use waxworms but they are low in nutrients and just have a lot of fat. Supers have a lot of fat as well but you can gutload them to be more nutritious.

If you're dealing with an anorexic leo then try some of Marcia's Slurry recipe. http://geckoforums.net/showthread.php?t=19356 Otherwise if you have a baby or a gecko that is too young for supers then just keep feeding them mealies and crickets that are properly gutloaded and you'll see your baby gain weight in no time. :)

You decide, look at your leo, look at your worms. If the worms look like a good size for the leo, theres a good chance they are.

I suggest you feed your gecko smaller supers, ones that are only half way grown if you can. if not I recomend freshly shed supers, they're soft and easy to chew. also feed them head first (using tongs) so that your gecko will chomp the head real good(less chance of the worm bitting your gecko)hope this helps:D

Roaches... Since I started using them a few months ago I have noticed a great improvement in the weight gain of my hatchlings. Superwrms work well also. Good Luck.

Really, what makes a gecko healthy is just a good diet. In time the gecko will grow, I feed all my geckos mealworms, and they are all nice and plump. Do you have a picture of your leo? If it is TOO skiny (we can help you decide this after seeing pics) then you will want to take him/her to a vet. Sometimes I give my geckos super worms and wax worms as treats. Super worms can be fed fairly often, but wax worms are best fed only on occasion, as they are REALLY high in fat. It would not be a good idea to feed only waxworms just to get your leo a little bigger, beacuse too many waxies can lead to fatty liver disease, and the geckos can even become "addicted" to them. You shouldnt have any problem keeping your gecko at a healthy weight if it is eating, and you are offering a diet consisting of mealworms, crickets, super worms, and/or small roaches.

Super worms and mealwors have been said to "eat there way out from the geckos stomach". This is not correct. The worms cannot survive being chewed on (even if the head is not crushed), and then being together with the stomach acids. Just sit a super worm in water and see how long it lives... you'll see they drown very quickly.

You don't need tongs, I have them, and rarely use them. Just put appropriatly sized worms in a ceramic dish, and let the gecko eat them as s/he wishes. I have had no problems with my geckos being injured in any way by super worms.

I agree.

In my eyes a good healthy diet will give you a healthy gecko (unless they have some type of health conditions) that in turn will give you a gecko that is putting on the weight it's suppose to. I believe you should feed for nutrition not just FAT. A fat leo isn't always the healthiest and fattening up in my opinion should be gradual.

If for some reason mealworms aren't working I suggest you feed gutloaded Roaches. From the pictures Heather (leapinlizards) posted of her leo Clark I can tell you they seem to work.
