Speckled feeder roaches and crickets. Have been breeding both of these for a while with great successes.

Well, although I just got Bert not too long ago he doesn't seem to take to Mealworms,
he just simply ignores them. I set several in a dish and moved the dish over by him, nada he didn't even touch them all night! However he just devours crickets!!

Roaches are probably the most nutritious, but mealworms are a lot easier for people to come to terms with breeding, especially if they don't live alone... When I brought up breeding a small colony of mealies to my dad, he said "I'm not impressed by the idea." When I brought up roaches he nearly gave himself a hernia. Crickets are terrible, just terrible.

It all depends on the gecko itself. My female likes crickets cause they move around and she loves hunting em down. However my male tremper albino is blind and therefore I use mealworms so he can get there easier with his smell. You might want to try all feeders and see which they like best and also the nutrients that it gives.

I so wish i could get roaches shipped to florida for some reason no site sends roaches to florida it sucks.

It's illegal to import roaches into Florida. Mainly because they would do so well here, and Florida is worried about invasive species. If you really want some, you might be able to buy them at a show either in Florida or adjacent to Florida. Then you could breed them for your own personal use, as long as you were careful.

I voted Roaches. I keep and breed dubias and have been for over a year and a half. In 98% of the US they are non colonizing (that is why they cant be shipped to Florida, because they can colonize there). Ive got over 2000 of them and will not be switching. I do supplement with meal worms, super worms, horn worms, phoenix worms and wax worms.

They are easy, clean and they don't smell. They do have a smell specific to them, but its not offensive like crickets are. And they live for a whole lot longer so their production life is a whole lot longer. keep them hot, keep them humid and you've got feeders in a box.

Well I have been breeding roaches for about 5yrs now never a problem with my bearded dragons and I just got myself a pair of leopard geckos at the last retle show in Pomoma and they love the baby dubia roaches.

But I have never heard of anyone getting into any trouble elling or buying roaches in Florida lol
