i dont know the science of reptiles but......
when a female gets to breeding maturity/weight without males will she go into "heat"? and if so what will happen("period" type symptoms with wasted eggs, etc?) or will there be no waste of resources because she wont go into heat?

i dont know how else to put my question

She does ovulate but doesn't go into heat like a cat. She may be a little irritable and not eat as well and then go back to normal. Sometimes a female will lay eggs even when there is no male around but this doesn't happen that often. The eggs are obviously infertile.

Paul don't freak out if she never lays an egg! I have a 12 year female who has never laid an egg. Sometimes females will absorb infertile eggs. Hope this helps!

not freaking out, just the scientist in me was wondering, my female is under age/weight for breeding just wondering what would/could happen. Thanks for the info
I assumed that she would produce ovules/eggs and reabsorb them if they dont get fert. by a male, but just wanted to make sure.
Yeah i am trying ot build up a stock of leos so when i get a fulltime job and steady money I can start thinking about breeding.
