ok im sorry this isnt leo related but i need the quick anser to know if i should be concerned... we came home tonight and in one of our green anole tanks we found 2 lil kind of but then not eggs... they are about HALF the size of a jelly belly jellybean, maybe even a bit smaller than half... we found 2, one was on the repti carpet and was broken open, its hard but then squishy and to look into it it looks almost like the contents of a chewed up jelly bean... lol seriously... it looks kind of like fine grain or seedy... and has the color like pollen... very yellow... the "egg" its self is also kind of yellow with a tinge of white.... then the odd unbroken one... we found then just about and inch or 2 on the glass... like it was stuck to the glass... it is again hard, harder than the broken one, but squishable... yellow in color EXCEPT for the part that was on the glass is white... tiny... any ideas? our anole has been housed by its self for most of its life... its been alone for several months now... i really dont think it would be an egg... but if they are not eggs... what are they??? HELP PLEASE!!!

ill post pics probally tomorrow... i got to find where we placed our cord so i can upload... thanks for any and all help, and sorry for puttin this here... just would like the fastest anser....

thanks again!

Well an image would surely bring more answers and remember that anyone with the internet can view this thread whether a member or not.

Yes, females who have never even seen a male can, will and sometimes do lay infertile eggs. They usually reobsorb them, but sometimes they lay them knowing they are infertile and just leave them wherever.

paul didnt even think of the point you made about the guest... thanks for the heads up :)

Both of my day geckos, who have only been housed alone, have laid eggs. One laid about 4 clutches of eggs from maturity for about a year. The other laid at least 1 clutch at the age of about 1 1/2 years. On a related note, I had a parrot for 20 years and didn't know its gender till I found 1 egg in the cage when it was about 10 years old. Some day geckos do glue their eggs to the side of the cage; I don't know about anoles.

anoles lay eggs just like leopard geckos and the eggs will stick to an ajoining surface when drying, but they are not "stickers"

im assuming they were infact eggs... the only thing i question is the size... i mean tiny lil things... but it seems possible... just makes me wonder if my older anole is a male as ive never seen any eggs in his cage... wonder if they would get along if i stuck em together? there is a bit of a size difference... thoughts?
