I build my own. For my most recent one, I posted in craiglist that I was looking for a free fridge and got one in less than a week. I then drilled holes, wired heat tape and got a good proportional thermostat plugged into it. If you PM me I can give you more extensive details. May not be as "pretty" on the outside as the ones on the market, but it holds way more eggs and keeps very consistant temps.
I have heard good and bad things about the hovabator 1602n but i just ordered one yesterday is this an ok choice for incubating leo eggs? Will this keep a constant tep? I have heard weierd things like peopleseggs getting torched by them. Is this an ok choice for small scale breeding?
They work fine. Must keep in a room that has stable temps. Mine won't vary more than .8 degrees. I have 2(male and female). I just use the thermostat that comes with it. Many people buy proportional thermostats which will insure the correct temps. I just don't need them because I don't travel and I can check the temp every day.
