I am looking for an arboreal T to display.I don't plan on handling it.I would perfer on without life threatening venom.preferably new world but old world may be considered.I would also like it to be medium sized, like 3-4 inch legspan.what would you guys reccomend.

Little bit bigger than you are asking about, but Avicularia versicolor is one of the most awesome arboreal T's out there. They are not aggressive, easy to keep and breed, and spiderlings are pretty cheap ($30 or so). Here's some pics of some of the A. versicolor I used to own.

They're in between 4.5 - 6in. Keep in mind though that it's legspan. Most of the time, tarantulas aren't always spread out. I have a juvenile and I think they're awesome!

Tarantula venom isn't really life threatening. Besides, you mentioned you won't be handling it anyway. Tarantula bites are really no worse than a wasp sting. The old world Tarantulas hurt a lot more and can numb the area that was bitten for a while. The bitten area can and will be tender for up to 2 weeks but a few days is more common.

As to your question, this particular Tarantula's venom isn't all that potent since it's from the new world. I hold mine all the time as well as others that I have. I have had close calls as well. Just like any other pet that you might have, the potential to get bit is there, you just have to be careful.

First off, there really is no such thing as a Tarantula with life threatening venom.

If you want a good new world arboreal then anything in the Psalmopoeus genus is great. Very beautiful. Super fast, though, and their venom is nothing terrible but its worse than other new world species. However, they do get larger than 4 inches. They can get 6-7 inch legspans but they are usually very "leggy". But they're great, and nothing to difficult to keep as long as you won't be handling it.
