What is a geckos habitat like in the wild?

In the wild do geckos climb at all? Do they actually climb up branches? Or do they basically spend their entire lives on and in rocks? Are they better off with more rocklike things in their cages and less plants real or fake? Do they need branches in their cages or driftwood? Or is that more for us humans to look at?

It depends on where in the world they are. Pakistan desert they are in rocks and burrows. Pakistan forest they are in logs and burrows.
