What is a red stripe?

I imagine this seems like a really obvious question, but I've been thinking a lot about it today because I've seen a number of pictures of geckos called red stripes that don't seem to me to be by any stretch of the imagination. So I'm wondering which of the following features qualify or disqualify a gecko as a redstripe (besides actual red racing stripes which seem pretty obvious to me):

red/orange background color
black spots in a vertical line on either side of the back
brown or orange/brown spots in a vertical line
lots of black spots on the body
lots of orange/brown spots on the body

I guess what I'm wondering about in particular is a gecko that has orange coloring on either side of the dorsal area, but a black line or series of black spots in the same place you see the black lines of a bold striped gecko. So would that be a redstripe because of the orange coloration, or would it be a tangerine bold striped gecko?

The more I think about it, the more confused I get.

Red Stripes can chance so much in color as they grow, and even more when they are bred. Here are some pics of Xanadu that I sold in July. Paul may be able to post some updates on what she looks like now.

This is from when I first got her.

Clarification

This is what I was trying to get to in my original question: The way I would describe the redstripes I've seen is that they have a yellow or whitish color down the middle of their backs and then a reddish/orange color on either side which might extend all the way to the ventral side. In a reverse stripe it would be the opposite. Some redstripes have a line of reddish spots on either side of the dorsal area and some have an unbroken reddish line. This can be in addition to the reddish color on either side. On some redstripes as they grow older the reddish spots or unbroken line turn browner or even black. Some are that way from the beginning. In some cases, the gecko develops a lot of brown or black stripes all over its body. So, is the "stripe" part the reddish color on either side (which looks less to me like a stripe than just a background color) or is it the thinner line (or dotted line) which is not always red? Is it still considered a redstripe even when the narrow stripes aren't really red? I hope that makes some sense. It's hard to describe what I mean.

Think Tangerine Stripes

There really are few true red "RS". On my best RS it is a combination of orange, and maybe brown that makes it deeper and near red. Check out the best (IMO) RS HQ ever hatched at www.leosanonymous.com :main_yes:
