In my apartment with a roomie.
Yeah, but try explaining why you're keeping roaches in your house on purpose to a room mate, or worse, a spouse! I might switch to roaches someday, but until I get my own place it's just not going to be possible because of the stigma surrounding them (especially in the South!).

I've had no luck with superworms. My geckos generally look at them like they're three-eyed aliens from Mars and run away. Mealies are my preference because they're so easy, cheap, and clean.

LOL I just couldn't resist....I'm from the south and I have a roommate and as difficult as i thought that he would be about my thinknig about getting roachies, i almost think that he's anticipating them now cause it kinda means that he will be allowed more snakes.....BTW hes a first time reptile owner and wanted 2 Balls but i talked him down to corns and he'll have his 2nd and 3rd by this time next week....:main_no:

I agree, Meal worms are easier and just as good as crickets. Crickets are harder to keep, die easier than mealies, and are harder for your leo to catch. But crickets do provide good nutrition.

I use must grasshops and waxworms (mealworms to the small ones under 45gr.).
But none of mine eat crickets.

waxworms is only some times a week.

Probably best is a variety. Mealworms are a good staple, I feel, but crickets can be better so far as then they can 'hunt' them.

This.

I doubt you would be happy with just one type of food for your whole life.

I use mealies 50% of the time, crickets 40% and the last 10% is for treats like waxworms, roachs, etc.

Regardless of feed choice, ALWAYS load w/ a high quality gutload. Possibly more important than bug choice.
