Nigel, greetings my hapa friend :D It's cool to see some eurasians on this site.
I'm acting all surprised because I don't get to meet very many (if any) eurasians in my part of the country at all. I'm sure in California there's many so you're not that surprised when seeing there's another Filipina/White mix.
I'm planning on moving to Seattle to better fit my surroundings though.

And I'm sorry Marcia, I didn't mean to start this thread into a debate about race, yeah it's a touchy subject but I was hoping people would just discuss their heritage/ethnicity/nationality in a non controversial matter.
It started off as an innocent thread on my part just out of interest to learn the different varieties of people we have here on geckoforums, thats all.
I'm a geneology/anthropology freak. :D

In that case, I'm a mix of English, Italian, Scottish and Swedish... That's at least what I've been told... I think my real roots are in the Pleiades... :main_evilgrin:

Although I'm kind of beginning to wonder if I'm not part reptile... My parents always told me they found me on a fence post and the sun hatched me...

I did suspect some Swedish blood in you...your last name is very common in Sweden, mostly without the c though, but " Michael Ecklund" sounds soooo Swedish :)

I (Lotta) is a Swedish Carrothead and Henrik is a Danish Boldy...

You are exactly correct! They added the "c" to be more American I guess... I have a distant relative from Sweden that played professional hockey here (in Sweden too)... His name is Per-Eric Eklund...

HAHA!!!

Oh that is funny..

My Mom is English. Her Grandparents and on are Scottish. A little farther back in the Family Tree we have a couple of Irish Relatives too.

My Dad is American. His Great Grandmother is Cherokee. All of my other Relatives on his side are "American". His side of the family came from Holland Long..Long ago.

So.. I am an American/English Mutt :p ... I will eventually turn into a baldy. :main_laugh:

LMAO!!!

I also joke a lot about genetics (or reptiles in general) and I end up laughing all alone because nobody else here gets it, lol.

I know for sure my parents, grandparents and some great grandparents of mine are even from the same province of Spain. By my surnames I'd say that it has been like this for many generations. I guess that makes me caucassian with probably some arab influence (from the centuries of muslim occupation here).

LMAO!!! :main_thumbsup:

My father's side of the family is mostly Italian coming from Muro, Italy what's left of the city is mostly ruins from a severe earthquake. My last name means "Of Muro". There is a little bit of German mixed in there from my grandma's side.

My mother's side of the family is Hungarian, Irish and American Indian (can't remember which one).

Just call me an Italian Mutt!!

Granma and Grandpa on the father’s side were immigrants from Calabria Italy (bottom of the boot) and on my mom’s side they came from England and Scotland.

So I guess I’m Italian x European or Italipean. Really, I’m Canuck through and through!

Per Eklund sounds familiar? Does he still play?

My wife is a Filipino from Manila (Pasig City). We like to describe our 5 year old son as an Italipino. :main_laugh:

I thought the official term was mestiza (girl) / mestizo (boy)?

Tanga, welcome to the west! Seattle is a cool place…bring your umbrella!

It's so interesting hearing about the stories of all your family history and backgrounds!
Scottish men are HOT, I've never met an ugly Scotsman :D:main_yes:
(This isn't a stereotype, this is just what I've observed in my own personal experiences :main_thumbsup:

I bet your son is gorgeous! Italian/filipino mixes are beautiful. And yeah, mestizo would be the correct word to describe your son....but Eurasian would be more appropriate I think, or "Hapa Haole" which means half white in Hawaiian.

My mother is half native blood Hawaiian (not many left!), and half filipino. Her father was filipino and met her mother in Hawaii during WWII when the Filipinos fought with the Americans. So yeah, I've got a unique family background. :)

Well... Tim's ancestry is German. And mine is, well, complicated:
I'm half French and Scottish. The other half is Eastern Band Cherokee (White Paint Clan). Now, my mother was a hippy, so consequently I was pretty muched raised on and around Pine Ridge, which is Lakota area. During, before and after the siege at Wounded Knee, my mother was out there helping with medical supplies and emergency health care . I, along with some other kids, stayed with Tunkashila (my Grandpa) and Uchiwayeki (my Grandma) and was pretty oblivious about everything.
Sometimes its not the color of your skin, its the blood in your veins, you know?
So, I guess, ethnicity? European/Native American
Nationality? 100% Lakota Sioux :indian_chief:

Sorry if this wasn't as PC as it should have been...

Now I'm just the crazy snake lady...:D
