I don't know what to do at this point. I'm up to 3 of our 6 remaining geckos going on hunger strikes.
Here's a bit of a run down for those who hadn't seen prior posts.
- Purchased 2 babies April 8th, one looked healthy the other looked skinny. They were hused together at the pet store, so we kept them together when we got them home. Only time they were seperated was for feeding time. The healthy looking one ate great for the first two days, then stopped completly. Took them to the vet about a month and a half to two months ago, turned out they had parasites. The sickly one didn't make it. Dante went on to complete his 4 doses of Panacur. Started eatting again on his own after being hand fed slurry for weeks. Ate great for about 4 days, then stopped again.
- Before we knew what was going on, they were being housed in a seperated 20 gallon tank. One of our older females was housed on the other side. She was always a great eatter, and continued to do so even after she was transferred to a 10 gallon take by herself. Then she stopped eatting too. She was also taken to the vet and tested, came back negative for parasites. She also went thru the 4 doses of Panacur (just in case). She started eatting again off and on, but is back to not eatting and has already lost 4 grams.
- After Loki was moved, and before the parasites were discoved, Odin also inhabited the other half of the 20 gallon. He was in that side when we finally got a diagnosis. He was moved out of there asap. He was always an excellent eatter, but now won't eat a thing. Going to be taking him to the vet here if he doesn't snap out of it.
Does anyone have ANY ideas? So far the vet is clueless as to what is going on, other than the parasites found in Obi and Dante. This is just so damn frustrating.
