This has stumped me for a while now.
My one and only male leo is named Rip. Recently when I have been taking him out to hold him he has been doing this weird thing and I cannot figure out for the life of me what he is doing. He squeezes his two back legs/ feet toward each other in a sort of scratching motion. When he is sitting on my hand he does this a few times in a row.
At first I thought it was because he was trying to get a good grip as if he thought he might fall but he does it even when my hand is flat and steady. It is weird.
It almost reminds me of a cat when they do that "massage" thing with their paws.
Then I thought maybe it was some sort of mating action? Since he is a young man now of about 8 months of age and maybe his hormones are raging? I wash my hands in between geckos. Maybe he smells the females on my hand still?
Please shed light on this so I can stop comtemplating it! lol. Thanks!
