I bought this female leo gecko about five months ago and I have never seen anything else like her. The pet store workers also said the same thing. I tried finding some info online about what type she might be but still haven't seen anything like her.

She is a rich chocolate color and has a hint of yellow at the base of the tail and little hint of yellow on the sides of her stomach. Other than that she has no spots and is solid chocolate with a normal white underbelly. Anyone know the name?

kinda looks like a darker murphy's patternless...they will get hints of colour through the tail, sometimes carrot tail, some will have the "olive" coulour work into tail. the rest of the tail "greys" out doesn't it? Keep him up to temps and may brighten up for you too....

could be a tremper albino patty. im thinking the dark coloration is probably a result of it not being kept at correct temps. give that girl a nice hot spot and post more pics after a few days. i bet she lightens up. if you can get eye shots that might help as well. but im loving that carrot tail. nice pick up!

She's always been this color since I bought her. Her cool side is at 72 and the hot side on her carpeted heat pad is 106 so I think she has plenty of heat, no?

106 is way too hot, that's what you're getting on the carpet? Or under it? Because if that leo gets under there that's really hot!

You want to keep it in the 90's :main_yes:

Here's some care sheets if you want to take a look at them

If the hot side is 106 she'll avoid it like the plague, and never color up since she's desperately staying on the cool end, which is way too cold at 72 (76-82 might be a better cool range).

I think she's quite possibly a tremper patty, too; but we'd need eyeshots to see. Nice carrottail. Good luck with her, she's looks like a nice pickup.

Thanks for the tips guys. i put a thin sheet of cardboard in between the glass and under the carpet to lower the heat mat temp down to 98. She would usually warm up on the edge or sides of the matt and sometimes ontop of the matt too. I will take some more pics today and upload them on this thread.
