Ok, so Ive had my Tokay for..hmmm a year I'd say? Anyways I bought her (I'm pretty sure as far as I can tell) In a pet store, 19.99$, Shes mean and vicious and in my mind no doubt WC. She looks like the "typical" tokay. She is ocassionally almost completely light blue, but most of the time her dark green bands seem darker. Her tail isnt thick at all, her body is ok. She may be underweight, but what is the ideal weight of a healthy tokay? How should it look? Most tokays I see have thinner tails but then I see some like this:

See this two look like beasts, they have fatter tails simmilar to leos, They look alot healthier--but are they actually supposed to be this size and thick? Is this overweight though? Or are usual tokays underweight? And to get a tokay of this size how much do you have to feed these angry dudes and what do you have to feed them? Either way the fatter tokays look alot more desirable to me. Anyone on here have any heavy tokays?

The ones in the pics maybe CB, reason for them being some plump.. As far as the ideal weight for tokays, thats a good question lol. I cant recall ever seeing much weight wise on tokays. I never weighed any of mine, would be kind of hard to put and get to stay on a scale lol..

Oh believe me, I had no intention on putting my girl on a scale, lol. I was just concerned as to tail size and girth, Ill post a few pics of mine soon, To me in comparison to the thicker tokays she looks definitly underweight, Id really like to get some tips on fattening her up.

Her colour seems to varry, Occasionaly she ll turn the same colour as yours! Its odd I wonder if the darker the more stress, the lighter the blue the happier or something?? lol. Either way Im glad to see yours is eating so well, Im suprised you got a pic of him eating, My girl hits like a torpedo then theyre (crickets) are gone in a seccond.

Nice Tokays !!
:D
I was just thinking the same thing-is mine too skinny??
Also-can anyone sex him/her from these pics?

I got her from a pet shop many years ago
I think that I have had her (girl?) for around 5 or more years and I would actually like to get her a mate

She barked at me when I was taking the pics the other night-lol
I walked by and she was on the glass on the side where i could actually get a pic of her

I really love their color and pattern

My tokay was originally a wild caught, but has since really calmed down. She hasn't barked or gaped since the first few months I had her, which surprises me. I'm not sure if that's normal or not. She freaks me out sometimes though because she loves her roaches and will race towards my hand when I open the cage to feed her! That'll make your heart race when you know how hard they can bite, lol.
She's certainly not as big as those first tokays though, and she eats really well. I wonder if it's something with the wc ones, that they monitor their own feeding to maintain a "fighting" weight so to speak?

This seemed like an appropriate weight for him. Pic taken 04 or 05 IIRC. I'd say the gecko in the original photos is a little too chunky. But who am I to judge given how fat and obese some of the leos on this forum are. Personally, I feel geckos such as our leos or, in this case tokays, should have enough fat to give a toned and reserved look to the pelvic region at the base of the tail. There should be a slight vertebral crease around the pelvic area, which I feel equates to about a proper fat reserve for the body. Most healthy wild lizards have this very same look to them. Just enough fat to give a toned, well-rounded appearance - instead of looking like the typical obese american.

She looks young and maybe a hair underweight, but not much and since appearing young she'll probably fill out a little more with age. The other tokay posted is a porker!
