I only know basic morphs well, this one look quite golden orange to me, i thought it was born from my SHT but no; born from High Yellow (male is a Tremper) : 3 months old today!

Then i got this one, born from SHT x Tremper, the band color looking very different from others, actually (month later) he's still looking exactly the same; it's bigger of course. What do you think about that one?

There are many website listing the morphs, some to calculte what baby you'll get with your couple, but is there one that tells you how this or that phase came up?

To me, the difference in color between the 2 geckos suggests that the second one is going to lose all its spots as it matures. Both geckos looks as if they could possibly be called "tangerine" though there's some variation in what people are willing to call "tangerine" since there's a continuuum from yellow to orange/yellow to orange and it's hard to know where to make the distinction.

Hope i'm not selling all the geckos with a wrong morph..! You may want to take a look at my blog (use the translate button at right), go to "birth" section and you'll see all my babies, some are quite old now (which means they won't change much if any..)!

I'm still a beginner in morphs... So i realised i probably wrongly named lot of my geckos :main_lipsrsealed:

So now it's time to make sure and correct. Let's start with this one, color fully developped :

To me the morph was just a Classic. But the yellow look particularly shiny, so... Is it a High Yellow?

Next one (above) was named Hypo High Yellow. But it's less shiny than 1st, actually not at all IRL... Is it just Hypo?

The second clearly deserve the "Hypo" status, don't you agree?

PS: The #1 in 1st post, would you personally name it Tangerine?

Most people think "hypo" is reserved for a gecko with less than 10 body spots and that one has more. You could always describe it as "high yellow with reduced spotting". There are different opinions as to what color really makes a "tangerine". I would call #1 in the first post a tangerine and if it's not tangerine enough for a prospective buyer, they just won't end up buying it.

I've found some information stating that "if it's between yellow & orange, then it's called Tangerine (or Golden)", i guess you confirm that?

And then if it's really orange, but not hypo, you'd call it Super Tangerine, correct? I'll add pics of this one, little older, looks Golden color to me, what about you?

EDIT: Now i've found an older pic of this one, was same age as 1st one pic.

I would call the geckos in the last few pictures tangerines because of the color of the first one on the sides and the second one where the bands are. No one seems to use the term "high orange" or "high tangerine" which is technically what you could call a gecko that has too many spots to be a hypo (just like "high yellow" is for geckos that are yellow, have too many spots to be a hypo but reduced spotting compared to the "normals"). Most people just call them "tangerines". I don't think "super tangerine" makes sense because it makes you think of an extremely orange gecko.
