What kind of Decor does a Leo like?

I am trying to make him feel at home (like where they come from, Pakistan Deserts.) But the pictures from the web aren't too helpful (just white sand). Are cactuses realistic to them? Do they like those long leafy plants (the ones with the suction cups)?

Thanks for any help.

The tank doesn't need to look like a desert for your leopard gecko to be comfortable. :) He couldn't care less as long as he has plenty of hiding places and appropriate temperatures. As long as he has all the basic things he needs, you're free to decorate the tank the way you like. Most will advice against sand though because it may cause impaction.

Read about 2 pages of threads in this section and you'll have a pretty good idea what you need to have in the tank and what are optional.

Thanks, good to know. And I already knew they can't have sand which is odd cause on the black desert sand package it has a leopard gecko on it, false advertising?

Anyways, thanks for your help :)

Google some non toxic, soft cactus species if you'd like to add live plants. And yes, no sand. You can purchase some nice rocks at aquarium stores and a natural tile at home depot.

Thanks. I'd be adding fake plants (I have enough struggle finding money to feed him as it is, a plant wouldn't help.) But if they really like anything than I'll probably go with what is cheaper considering my financial situation.
