Hello all, I live in central NC, Raleigh to be exact. Today at my job I found this little guy walking across the floor of my office(most of the building is warehouse). I am pretty sure it is some type of gecko since I owned several types as a kid, just don't know what kind. I am very familiar with the common anole or skinks that are native here and thier are no known species of gecko that live in NC. Please I.D. if possible. There is a very large lake right next to the building if that helps any! Thanks in advance

That is a medeterranian (sp?) house gecko, or hemidactylus turcicus. They are an invasive species to the US, but were released to help with pest control. They just eat nasty spiders and moths at night. I would reccomend just letting it go around your home where they will eat pests, breed with others, and keep you company at night. They dont usually do well if you take them out of the wild into captivity, and they often die of shock.
