Also, i am using a 12in fluorescent light for my day/night cycle since my room is very dark all day. It was pretty bright so i taped half of it off to cut down on how bright it was. He stays in his hide when its on. Do you think it will stress him out, especially if hes albino? If so, what should I use?

they do not need a day/night cycle. As long as your provide Calcium with D3 dusted on your insects they do not need a light and albinos do not like light at all.

If you want light to see him better, use red light during the day and black light (nite light) for the night, but strictly speaking, if you have a UTH, light isn't necessary. It doesn't hurt though, as long as you don't use a daylight bulb, and if it doesn't raise the cage temps too much!

It looks like a Tremper Albino. Of course it's not a Normal; those are black and yellow banded, not light brown and yellow. It is an Albino, most likely a Tremper, if you got it from a pet store, because that's what they usually carry. An eye pic helps to identify the Albino line: there are three. Trempers have yellowish eyes with red veins, Bells have reddish eyes with veins, and Rainwaters have grayish eyes.

Nice little gecko! Needs to get a little fat on its tail, but I'm sure in your good care, that won't take long :main_yes:

So do you think a florescent light is to bright? And I just got him on Monday and he eats like a champ. I have his supplements on order so that should help.

Maybe open your blinds a little or something? I guess I don't really know if a day/night cycle is beneficial but generally speaking it is good psychologically for animals to know. They are nocturnal so they should be hiding during the day. Even my non-albinos do that. That is normal.

Unless there has been some study showing that a day/night cycle is not psychologically beneficial for leopard geckos I would try to create one some way. Maybe not with a bright florescent light right above him but something.
