What are some of the rarest leopard gecko morphs? Which one is usually the most expensive? I will get one pair, and already have a pair of SHTCTB.

some of the rarest morphs atm are black pearls, and recently there have been pictures of a new blue morph but not much has been released about them yet. The most expencive atm would have to be either radars, or typhoon combinations (snow enigma radar or snow enigma typhoons).

The newest morph are often the rarest, and they can command outrageous prices. The newest and rarest morph I can think of are Black Pearls, which are solid black Leopard Geckos. The Urban Gecko has some for sale, and they cost about $3,000 each! Some other rare and expensive ones I know of are:

- Phantoms (Sunglow TUG Snows)
- Super Raptors (Super Snow Raptor)
- Super Snow Diablo Blancos
- Dreamsicles (Raptor Snow Enigmas)
- Embers?
- Radars
- Super Novas
- Some of the nicer Enigma morphs

Black Pearls are not solid black and if you look at TUG's website you can't find them there or neither on their projects area.

Getting back to the topic. The most expensive sometimes are not the most cooler ones. But as some people said before I like a lot how the Typhoons, Radars and some W&Y looks.

Typically the more rare the morph the higher the price. Once released to the general public the price starts to decline. Depending on whether it is a dominant, recessive or line bred trait can determine the pricing, and the rate of decline. The easier it is to reproduce the animal the faster the price falls. Radars are fairly new to the market, but even in the past 3 years the prices have dropped dramatically. White and Yellows are not as prominent in the US market, but are much more widely available in the European market, therefore there is a difference in pricing. The black pearl is an interesting one. Unsure why TUG has removed them from their website, but I do know they are quite expensive at this time.

I'm still learning about the different morphs but a lot honestly just look the same to me. There's obvious differences between something like a mack snow and a tang but if they have similar colors and/or similar pattern then yeah. Someone can ask for people to identify the morph and 5 people will give different answers. Sometimes I just don't see the point to it unless it's so different than what's out (like the black pearl) or there's something that's plaguing a certain line (like enigmas).

Morph isn't important when keeping leos as pets. You should keep what you love to look at :) Many of them do look alike but its the genotype or the genes behind what it looks like that breeders choose to work with and will pay big $$ to work with something new or incorporate the best looking animals with a specific background into their breeding stock.

Definitely not looking to get into breeding but I wanted to know what everyone was talking about, lol. Part of the reason was I wanted to minimize the risk of being charged more for something. Then again I have a set price range so if that were to happen any loss would be negligible at best. As long as the gecko is healthy when I buy.
