What s the criterion of distinguish sunglow from hybino ?

I only know that
Hybino = Hypo + albino
Sunglow = Hypo + tangrine + albino

But now as the Sunglow is more and more popular, it seems that this name is used well over. Some geckos that i consider to be hybino is named 'sunglow' by their owner. for example this one, shall we call it hybino or sunglow?


Is there any exact criteria of distinguish sunglow from hybino ?

They are the exact same thing.

The only difference between a hybino and a sunglow is who produces them and what they decide to call them.

Yeah you heard wrong...Sunglow and Hybinos are genetically the same. Hybino is just a term referring to the fact the that Hypo and Albino traits were bred together. We usually see the name Sunglow because thats what most snake breeders call Hypos bred to Albinos for example Boas. Hope this helps!

I was told the same thing until I researched it more. The first hypo albinos were bred by Ray Hines (?) and he called them hybinos. Kelli was the second breeder to produce them and she called them hybinos to honor the pre-existing name for the morph. Then other breeders called them sunglows.

I dont want to be mean, but geez people. If your gonna do that at least provide a link to one of the other threads. Or leave the thread for someone else to answer the question. Its not like kingsnake where the answer to someones question has been answered in 50 threads that day same day, or the persons question is so stupid that no one wants to answer. Plus his question was already answered by Marcia and Joshua. My reply was just to give more history to the morph. But since the question was already answered, Paul and Michael, your posts werent really needed. I know that you two contribute alot to this forum, but dont you guys remember when you were first learning?

From what i've gathered through research is:

Hybino has Bell Albino Trait & Sunglow carries the Tremper Albino Trait. They are both generically the same just obtained the albinos from different classes.

Hybino - hypo albino
Sunglow - super hypo tangerine albino

here in the uk a hybino is a hypo albino, a sunglow is a tangerine super hypo albino
