What salamanders are legal/easy to keep?

My best friend wants a little red lizard or something that is easy to take care of and not too expensive. I couldn't find any red geckos so I suggested a salamander but the problem is I have no idea what kind of salamanders are legal to keep in Georgia and what kinds are actually red.
I told her she should just try to find a little leopard gecko that she can fall in love with because she loves my baby leo but she's fixed on wanting something red.
Any ideas?

There are two reptile shows in Lawrenceville held by Repticon every year, 1 larger show in Atlanta, and then there's a Repticon in Tallahassee, FL, and of course there's the Daytona Expo in August. There are also Repticons in South Carolina. Kingsnake.com has listings of all upcoming show, just like Matt said.

The closest thing described sounds like an emperor newt or a red spotted newt. They have a beautiful bright orange color, are fairly inexpensive, and are pretty hardy as well as easy to care for.
