I just bough a 20 gal long tank, a heat pad, a uv strip light with bulb and 2 extra bulbs for $15. Now here is the hardest question IMO. What next? It has to be some kind of lizard, no snake. Any ideas are welcome. Thank you.

There are several lizards that come to mind. Leos, fat tails, rankins, armadillos, anoles are some. I'm sure there are more that others can think of. The main thing though is to do plenty of research of which lizard would suit you best before you get one. Good luck.

You could go with many things. Leos, Fatties, etc. Some things that may also be considered but are harder to find and not as handleable, sandfish, crocodile skinks, namibian sand geckos. I don't know its up to you, I'd say your best bet for someting handleable is another leo or a fattie.

30 gallons is too small for an adult BTS, a 40-50 breeder gallon should be more like it. I have always wanted one and have read a ton about them.

Actually the caresheet at http://bluetongueskinks.net/says thats the smallest. Also I was planning on an irian jaya which max out at 22inch.

I have always wanted a BTS, someday, have you considered a snake?. Their are several colubrid species that would be fine in a 20-30 gallon.

You could get a tokay or a crested. A 20 long would be fine if you got one of those hinged covers and turned it on its side so they have space to climb but you can still acess the cage easily.

a couple of whites tree frogs would do good in a 20 gallon. They don't cost that much and are soooo cute! there are so many options though. Just try to find something you like.

Honestly... BTS could live in a 20g for quite a while. Some breeders actually keep their adult bts in 20 long and it doesnt seem to affect them. Just dont crowd their cages with fake plants and uneeded crap. Me personally I like keeping my BTS in 40 gallon breeders just for my own concience. Once they turn like a year old or 18 inches its time to move them into a 40 imo. Its honestly up to you. A gargoyle gecko would be perfect. I find them not as aboreal as ppl say, definately not comparable to cresteds in activity imo. So a 20g long would suit them well... just make sure you have every spot of that tank usuable.
