walked into a local pet store today, and they had about 5 red eyed leopard geckos. I bought a red eyed one, my girlfriend liked the other one so she got it. If I had more money, I would have bought more....
what are they?

very unique little fellas, the other red eyed ones were solid orange, and they had a couple patches of spots on them, i tried to get my gf to get one of those, but she was set on that one.

The eye is a very nice, distinguished Bell eye..don't think there's any particular genes making it different other than the Bell gene

Wow, someone traded them for crickets? That blows my mind a little.
They're both lovely finds though, congratulations.

yeah, they have a system where they charge you $25 and you get 1000 crickets that can be used up over time, and really its good for people with lots of reptiles, that don't like to keep them in their house.

There was a total of about 15 little leos, I'm guessing about 9 normals, 4 with red eyes, one that looked to be a patternless, and a odd orange one with red eyes that had a lump on his head and looked to have problems he was kinda lethargic looking. They had them spread out in 3 terrariums according to their size, but the size difference wasn't huge so we picked 2 from separate terrariums.

Nice find on the Striped Bell... It's not too uncommon for baby Bells to have very red eyes... Most of the time they fade to a normal colored Bell eye...

The second gecko is not a Bell... It's a Tremper... ;)
