my groomer doesnt believe in sedating any animal just to be groomed. she even does cats.
i am sure that video horribly depicts how the machine is supposed to work. in that video the cat does look like it is being mistreated and the machin inhumane. i see the machine as a rather outlandish idea. now to say whether or not it is inhumane. i can not say i would have to see how it is supposed work. because someone can make something that is humane into something inhumane by abusing it

I once had a cat that went completely limp in my arms during a bath. I thought he'd died. Just fainted, the big lug. He never got another bath. That's one heck of a kitty torture chamber. Gee, do ya think their sales will plummet???

yeah, I really doubt it was meant to be used like that, I feel bad for that cat though.

One of my cats had the runs and got it on him when leaving the litter box, I gave him a good bath and he did well but it took me and 2 kids to do it and him remain calm.

Well... I had to wash a cat once... neighbors paid me to do it, little did i know. This cat went into a freak spat of Screaming scratching jumping into walls, rubbing itself on the floor to get the vile mixure off of him. The whole time he sounded like pits of hell opening.. quite scary. I guess cats just extremely hate water... another reason why Dogs RULE! lol jk

Both of my girls get baths, and they do very well. They don't love it but do not fight to get out or freak out like that poor cat. I actually get more of a bath myself trying to bathe the dog.

it says it was

"It's going to destroy our image," said Andres Diaz, the owner and inventor of Pet Spa, which markets and distributes a system to wash, de-flea and blow-dry dogs, cats and other small animals."

My himalayan I used to have was not totally fond of the baths that he got...but I think he hated it worse when I shaved him....needless to say I had him declawed all the way around so he wasn't able to make mince meat of me...but he was terrified of the outside...except the porch roof, I'd leave the window open a few inches and he's squeeze through to watch the neighborhood. But he tolerated the baths.....I don't think I'd even put a mellow animal in that machine! Some people make no sense

I can Not view the video ( dial up :main_rolleyes: )

But I have heard of these machines and think it is stupid. Cats don't need to be bathed that often. They do it themselves enough as it is. I have one cat that is very easy to bathe and two that are not as easy but if you hold the scruff (lose skin on the back of the neck) Be gentle! then they pretty much stay still. It's easier for two people to do this. One person hold the cat by the scruff and support the back legs while the other person bathes the cat.

that thing is stupid and unsafe from what I can see....besides that the animals could hurt themselves flinging themselves about like that, you're risking them getting respiratory problems from inhaling the spray, possible stomach upsets from injesting any of it, ear infections from it getting in their ears............maybe I missed smt, but that's how it looks to me.

I have bathed many cats- -some do OK with it and some I actually wash with a wet washcloth on the top of a wet towel and only have to really pour water on them when I have to rinse them off
It can be done but as was said it really does not need to be done very often

There is a humane way to give a cat a bath and this IS NOT one of them

my 2 cents
:D
