What thermostat?

What thermostat do you all use for heat tape, or dimmers? Any suggestions on brands?

How much are you looking to spend? I love the Herpstat ND, which runs about $130. That might be more than you had in mind. They're worth it though. I've got 3 with more on the way. If you don't want the Night Drop feature, the Herpstat without it is around $109.

for considerably less moola, blvdreptiles.com has alife 1000/esu 1000 thermostats for $16.17 i'm not sure how much longer that price is going to last or how well they work, but i saw them mentioned on here by scott&nikki i believe...

I use the alife on all my tanks and have had no problems for the last 4 years, although I know others do. I use a big apple proportional thermostat for the incubator.

Wow that's a great price on the alife. I swear I saw those at my local reptile store for $45 the other day.

i was amazed too, that's why i jumped on it when i saw them that cheap. they were like $38 at the reptile show i was just at so i've been looking for recent threads about people with thermostat questions and spreading the word. shipping at that site is a little bit higher than some other places, but if there's several things you want to get from them it's not much more for more items.
