What to do if power goes out for an extended time?

It hasn't happened to us yet, but I'm wondering what to do if it does? How long without the UTH is OK? Take our gecko to someone else's house? What do folks do in this situation?

I don't worry so much about the geckos, but about the eggs in the incubator. The geckos will be fine for a short time (a few days) even down to the 50's. With the eggs I have done the following different years:
--I now have a gadget that the incubator is plugged into that will run it off batteries for a few hours if the power goes out. It was originally made for computers
--Losing power in the summer, I used my temp gun and kept moving the incubator around to the place with the correct temps
--I have walked my incubator over to a friend's house where the power was on.

I got a small generator that can power my rack and both my incubators for 5 hours on 1 gallon of gas. Not worried about it so much though, in the heat of spring/summer. I can just move them to different spots in the attic for the right temps.
